Arowolo Family In Ekiti Dupes CEO of Jobufet Oil& Gas #35M

An Ado-Ekiti based elderly woman identified as Funmilayo Oseni has duped a business man, Kolawole Davidson of the sum of #35 million.

The alleged fraud was committed by Oseni in connivance with two other persons, Alhaja Risiskat Owoseni and Dele Arowolo in January 2017. The trio had offered to sell a property along Itaawure express road, Ipinle Ekiti to the company of Kolawole Davidson, Jobufet Oil and Gas Limited at the sum of #35 million.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Jobufet Oil and Gas Limited, Kolawole Davidson, who said the agreed payment for the property was made through his company to the family of Alhaji Alli Arowolo after due diligence at the Ministry of Lands and Housing in Ado-Ekiti. However, Davidson said he was shocked when found out later that the whole transaction was a scam orchestrated by Funmilayo Oseni, Risikat Owoseni and Dele Arowolo in collusion with few officials of Ekiti State Ministry of Land and Housing.

Davidson told our correspondent that the fraudulent transaction was immediately reported to the Ekiti State police Command. However, the head and the principal member of the late Alhaji Alli Arowolo’s family who was the original owner of the property. Davidson further explained that the both Funmilayo Oseni and Dele Arowolo agreed at the purported settlement meeting to make repayment of the #35 million to Jobufet Oil and Gas Limited. Davidson also explained that it was further agreed at the meeting held in April 2018 that he should take possession of the family house of late Alhaji Alli Arowolo should the family representatives that participated in the alleged fraud failed to make repayment as agreed.

While relieving his experience of the
fraudulent transaction, Kolawole Davidson also lamented to our correspondent that the trio of Funmilayo Oseni, Risikat Owoseni and Dele Arowolo have reneged on their repayment agreement as no payment has been made till date.

Meanwhile, Kolawole also informed our correspondent that the fraud has been officially reported to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He however assured that everything possible within the ambit of the law would be done not only to recover his money, but to also get the fraudsters punished. “The case has been reported to the EFCC and I am upbeat that the money will be recovered and also get the persons involved in the scam punished. Fewofficials of Ekiti State Ministry of Lands and Housing that served as accomplices in the fraud will also be exposed and given appropriate punishment in accordance with law of the land”, Davidson added.
