BTO welcomes constituents to November, commiserates with Akungba community
The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has condoled with the people of Akungba Akoko over the fatal accident that reportedly killed scores of people in the town on Saturday night.
In his new month message, the legislator prayed for God to repose the souls of the deceased and also grant their loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He added that a responsive action must be taken to forestall this recurrent incident.
“What happened yesterday broke me down to the core of my being. Seeing people lose their life in such a gruesome way is never part of God’s plan. This has become recurrent and now is the time to approach this ugly scernario with a proactive concept.
“The best we can do now is to condole with the entire people of Akungba Akoko and pray for strength during this period,” he said.
While welcoming his constituents in Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency to the month of November, the lawmaker assured that he would continually give them a voice in the National Assembly in facilitating to them what is due to them.
“As I have consistently assured you, we will not relent until our Constituency becomes a place we can truly call home,” he noted.
In the statement released by his Special Adviser on New Media, Alao Babatunde, BTO also called for caution in the remaining two months of the year.
