The All Progressive Congress Senator representing Ogun West at the red chamber, Senator Tolu Odebiyi has once again made his people proud by advocating against the Federal Government Stringent policy on border closure.
Sen. Tolu Odebiyi, made this clear during the plenary section at the red chamber by adding a strong voice to the debate on border closure. “No Country wakes up one day and close its borders for 28 days, I represent a senatorial district that has about 5 local governments along the border areas and they were badly affected because their economy was on a standstill since the activation of the border closure policy by the Federal government.
He reiterated that, “If you look around these borders, there are no government activities, no government presence, no good roads, there are no form of livelihood and the little they have, are being sabotaged by this stringent policy”.
Senator Tolu Odebiyi in the course of the house debate on border closure further stated that, “there are people who are doing legitimate business with the ulterior needs to get their goods and services outside countries for sale but are affected by this policy which has adversely effect their economy and sabotaged their development.
It should be recalled that a month ago in Nigeria Tribune and DailyPost, the headlines respectively were “Border Closure: Ogun West Senator Calls for Calm” and “Ogun Senator sends message to FG over alleged closure of Seme border”. All these are proofs that Senator Tolu Odebiyi is an active representative of the people.
